Trading involves risk

Trading and investing in shares, futures and options can lose money, and leveraged or intraday trading can lose more than you expect, quickly. SEBI's own studies have found that most individual traders in equity derivatives lose money. Only trade with money you can afford to lose, and consider speaking to a SEBI-registered investment adviser before making financial decisions.

Backtests describe the past

A backtest shows how a set of rules would have behaved on past prices, with the charges and fill rules described on how we test. Past results do not guarantee future results. A backtest cannot fully account for news, gaps while the market is shut, stocks locked in a circuit, liquidity, your broker's actual fills or your own decisions in the moment. Our published studies include strategies that lost money after charges.

Data can be delayed or wrong

Prices and candles come from market-data feeds and can be delayed, incomplete or occasionally wrong. Paper trading fills are simulated. Always check prices in your broker's terminal before placing a real order. Charges and tax rates follow published rate cards on the dates stated; your broker's actual charges may differ.
