How to read the comparison
Only brokerage (and the GST on it, plus the DP charge on a delivery sell) changes between brokers. On small
intraday trades a percentage plan can cost less than a flat ₹20; on big trades the ₹20 cap matters more. In options
most brokers charge a flat fee per order, so the number of orders matters more than the premium. Pick your usual
trade above to see which plan suits it.
It depends on the trade size. On a small trade, 20 shares bought at ₹500 and sold at ₹505, total charges come to ₹10.46 at ICICI Direct and ₹27.29 at Groww, Angel One and Upstox. On bigger trades the ₹20 cap makes most plans equal. Put your own trade in the calculator above to compare.
Which broker is cheapest for options?
For one NIFTY lot (65) bought at ₹100 and sold at ₹120 premium, total charges come to ₹65.11 at Zerodha, Groww, Angel One and Upstox and ₹133.55 at ICICI Direct. Most brokers charge a flat fee per executed order; ICICI Direct's default plan charges per lot.
Are STT and other taxes different at different brokers?
No. STT, stamp duty, SEBI's fee and GST are set by law, and the transaction charge by the exchange, so they are the same at every broker. Only brokerage and the DP charge differ.
Which brokers does this compare?
Zerodha, Groww, Angel One, ICICI Direct, Upstox, the largest brokers by active NSE clients, each on its standard plan as published on its own pricing page.
Is this advice to open an account with a broker?
No. It only compares published charges for one trade. Service, platform and support matter too; LeadFinn is not paid by any broker.
